Dan Eisenstein's Scenario
The monsters were called upon by the army to make sure that the elves of Philthadelfia had neither the means nor the will to join the uprising. They were to do this by identifying and quietly eliminating strategic interests that would allow the elves to make war. Generally, the first half of this task went better than the second half. After laying waste to a small outlying fort, the monsters fought to a draw at mage boot camp and were routed at the river fortress. HQ began to conclude that the elves were a menace that one could only hope to contain not control.
Unfortunately, sources from Atlantis City suggested that the Dark Lord's ring was in the possession of an elven mage turned lounge singer. A group of monsters was sent to Philthadelfia to locate the ring, only to find that it was in the possession of the elven king, who was intent on using it to restore the glory of the city. However, a sufficiently brave and powerful set of monsters could not be rounded up to strike the palace and retrieve the ring. It remains at large.
